File & Folder Tasks problem

G

Guest

In 'My Documents', 'My Pictures' & similar folders I have a problem with the
'File & Folder Tasks'.
For example if I click on 'Copy this file' the box appears to enable you to
select the place where you want to copy to BUT the list of optional files is
missing.
Maybe I've got a setting wrong somewhere, I don't know.
Can anyone out there help please?

Alan,

What exactly do you mean by "optional files". I don't have any setting of that kind in my system.

When you click on for example 'Copy this File' a box appears.
At the top left of the box is'Copy Items', top right is a button with a ?
mark on it & one with X on it.
Just below the top is 'Select the place where you want to copy 'PICT0001'.
Then
click the copy button.
At the bottom is 'To view any subfolders, click a plus sign above.'
With three bottons below, one with 'Make New Folder' option, one with 'Copy'
& lastly one with 'Cancel'.
In between there should be a list of files but mine is totally blank in the
middle.
I did see an answer which suggested:
Run regsvr32 /ishdocvw.dll
or regsvr32 /ibrowseui.dll
I tried the first one & it worked! But then I had to do a System Restore &
now when I try them I get:
RegSvr32
No DLL name specified.

Usage: regsvr32 [/u] [/s] [/n] [/i[:cmdline]] dllname
/u - Unregister server
/s - Silent; display no message boxes
/i - Call DllInstall passing it an optional [cmdline]; when used with /u
calls dll uninstall
/n - do not call DllRegisterServer; this option must be used with /i
Button with 'OK' on it.

Which makes no sence to me at all.
Hope I have answered your query & not confused you as much as I am.
Regards
Alan

Well, that was probably the post I made last year or so. I've since revised the solution (so as to suit IE7 also). Here you go, Alan.

Thank you for your help, although I made the mistake of saving the file to
'My Received Files' instead of to Desktop, habit, it still worked brilliantly.
Once again thank you.
