File Folder default action suddenly changed to "Search..."

Hey guys. I was trying Ciam Sawyer's Windows XP Customizing Article
(http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/learnmore/sawyer_03june30.mspx) and I was trying the Customize File-Type Icons guide.

I followed the directions carefully:

-Folder Topions dialog box, File Types tab
-Selected "File Folder" File Type and clicked Advanced
-Clicked on "Change Icon" and browsed to a different icon file
-Clicked "OK" and "Close"

So that was successful, however, when I double-clicked on any Folder, it
suddenly opens a "Search..." window instead of just opening the Folder.

I right-clicked a folder and the default action for it suddenly became
"Search..." instead of "Open".

I can't seem to find where to change it now, can anyone point me in the
right direction? Thanks :)

Hi

Not sure what causes it, but that file alters one value in the Registry.

Dear Shiro,

I encountered the same problem while doing something else. However, Mr.
Ramesh [MVP] helped me and the problem was solved. You may also try the
solution.

Here is his reply.

Hi Dinesh,

Try the .REG fix here. It should fix both the problems.

Open each folder in the same window:

I am sure it will work for you too.
