file extensions for photo story 3 for windows

hello and greets to the group

I am helping a friend with a wedding presentation/gift that he is putting
together using photo story 3.....while it was being saved, i noticed that the
file extension was .wmv but when it was burned onto cd and saved as data, the
file extension was .wp3.......is this correct? it was my understanding that
the file could be played using WMP but the times i have tried it, all i got
was that WMP would not recognize the file.....did we miss checking a box or a
setting while it was being saved??

any help would be gratefully appreciated!!

thanks to all in advance!!!

..wp3 is the project file...this is used for re-editing.
Clicking the "Save Project" button produces this file.

The .wmv movie file should be created when you
are on the "Save Your Story" screen and click
the "Next" button.

If you did not specify a save folder...the .wmv file
should be in your...My Documents / My Videos...
folder.

C:\Documents and Settings\>user name<\My Documents\
My Videos\PhotoStory1.wmv

Please describe exactly how the file was
burned on the CD.

Forgive me for saying but it sounds like you
saved the .wp3 project file by clicking the
"Save Project": button...and then closed the
program without saving the .wmv movie file.

The only way I know of to save the file as a
..wmv movie is to click..."Next" when you are
on the "Save your story" screen.
