File exists on server

When I upload files to the server, I get message:

The file '<filename>.jpg' exists on the destination server
but does not exist in the current Web. Would you like
FrontPage to remove it from '//<servername/targetfolder>'?

I get hundreds of copies being created on the server.

How can I get rid of this behaviour.I am using FP2000.
 
Set up a subweb for these images.
