File error: Data may have been lost

Im using MS Excel 2003 SP3. Im working on a reporting tool called business
objects which provides a feauture of writing to excel. The problem is for
every report which contains a hyperlink- on downloading we get a popup "File
error: Data may have been lost". It appears to be due to a security patch of
Microsoft. Has anyone faced this? Help please!

I am having this issue as well. It seems to have started when KB943985 v2 was
installed on the machine. If this update is removed, the error does not show
up. The cause of the error seems to be two .xla files used in this office. I
do not know what about the xla files is causing the error.

Help would be appreciated!
