Can anyone tell me how I can change the action for various
filetypes. Once you have unchecked the "always ask me"
box, a filetype will automatically open. I want to get
back to an "always ask me" situation, but don't know
how !!

Windows Explorer TOOLS menu|FOLDER OPTIONS|FILE TYPES tab...
Find the file type, then select it and click ADVANCED.
Checkmark the "confirm after opening" box, and see if that does the job.
