File Download Dialog Box/Won't Let Me Save

There is a checkbox in the File Download dialog box that
essentially allows you to turn off that dialog box and
automatically Open files of a particular type. I need to
save the files, and the machine I'm doing that on has
removed that check so Save is not provided as an option,
the file immediately opens. How can I reset the check on
that question so the File Download Dialog Box appears when
I click on a downloadable file?

To get the download dialog box, enable the "confirm open after download" option for that filetype:

Click "Start" -> "Program Files" -> "Windows Explorer".

Then click "Tools" -> "Folder Options".

Change to the "File Type" tabs.

Scroll down to locate the file type. Highlight the filetype (example :"PPT
Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation") and click the "Advanced" button.

Then check the option "confirm open after download".

Also, set the "NoSelectDownloadDir" to "0"

Ramesh ... Thank you. You identified the fix that 5
people in our I.T. department were unable to locate.
