I want to know if there is an easy way to compare two
files using windows. I used to use windows commander for
this, but I don't want to load it if windows has this
function...

Thanks

Not in the GUI. But you can open a command window and use the FC (File
Compare) program. Type "fc /?" for details.

I use an ms utility called windiff for gui file and directory [binary] compares.
I think it came in "...\tools" on the win98 cd. I added it to my XPpro
installation and it works fine and it's very small(unlike win commander IIRC). I
just googled on windiff and it's available on the net if you want to try this
avenue and don't have a 98cd anywhere abouts.

<Thanks
