File Attachments in Outlook 2000

Hi All,

I have an email problem with Outlook 2000. I'm new to Outlook, but I come
from Outlook Express. When attaching a file in OE, an attachment header
would be added under the Subject header, and the file name would appear in
this header window. In Outlook, the file attachment appears in the body
(message portion) of the email as an icon, and when I send the email to
someone (form Outlook), they get the email but no attachment. I have
experimented with the following;

If I email an email form Outlook to myself, the attachment does come through
and I can open it.

If I email the attachment to someone using OE instead of Outlook, they do
receive the attachment and can open it.

Is there something in Outlook that I have to check or uncheck to get the
attachments to work properly? I have looked through every menu item and
options menu and can't seem to find anything.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Ron

P.S. I use Outlook 2000 because that's what I have, MS Office 2000. A bit
behind the times, but it still functions very well for my needs.

Set your message format to plain text or html (see tools > options > mail
format). You also may have to disable Word 2000 as your e-mail editor.

Neo,

That did it. I changed to HTML instead of the Microsoft Outlook Rich Text
and it works. I even get the attachment header just like in OE.

Thanks for the help, Happy New Year.
