File and Folder Tasks Template

Lizzie

The file and folder tasks area in one of my folders is formatted like it is
for video, but it is not a video folder. Is there some way to change it to
just give the regular file and folder tasks?

Thank you for any help.

To fix the problem, try one of the following methods:

[Option 1]
Click Start, Run and type C:\
Click Tools, Folder Options
In the View tab, click "Reset all folders"
Click OK.
Close the folder

[Option 2]
See: "Common Tasks Don't Match Folder Type"
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_common_tasks.htm

[Option 3]
You can use Keith Miller's script to fix the problem. Download "TaskPaneFix.zip" from here:
http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windowsxp.customize/msg/d7dd4582cc4b2e99
Note: Close all folder windows before running this script.

What about "Right clicking the folder > Properties > Customize tab" ?

Yes. For normal folders, that's the easiest option. OTOH, if the OP is referring to a shell folder ("Customize" tab would not be available) which exhibits this behavior, they may try one of the methods in my post.

Thank you both for your help. The Customize folder did what I needed and
it's very interesting to know there are so many ways to do things.
