Fields in Word 2003

Is there a way to set up data entry fields in a Word 2003 document so that
there is a simple keystroke (Tab??) to index to the next field?? In other
words, after typing the text into Field 1, can the fields be set up so that a
certain keystroke operation indexes the active site to the next field so that
one does not need to use the cursor to move to the next field??

Thanks. njmeatball

I suppose that you are talking about fields in an unprotected document (and
not form fields in a document protected for forms). If that is the case, you
can use F11 to select the next field and Shift+F11 to select the previous
field.

You can also assign other shortcuts via Tools > Customize if you wish. The
commands to find are NextField and PrevField. For information about assigning
shortcuts, see:

Thanks Lene, that was what I was looking for. I don't need to assign it to a
keyboard macro; pressing F11 is simple enough. I'm am surprised that I was
not able to find this out with searches of Word2003 help or looking into
tutorials for Word 2003.

Thanks again for your help.
