Fields aren't displaying when creating a query or report

I'm trying to create a new query and/or report and suddenly the fields are
not showing up when I select the table.
 
Ouch! That is strange. I've never experience anything like that. I doubt if
it's anything like database corruption. Seems more of a Windows or Office
problem. Make sure that you have all the most recent updates for both.
 
I've not had that happen before either, that's why it's so frustrating. One
of the first things I tried was to make sure I had the latest updates.
Thanks anyway.
