Field Options inoperable in Import Spreadsheet Wizard

When importing an Excel spreadsheet into an Access database, I could always use the "Field Options" window (the 4th window in the Import Spreadsheet Wizard) to choose to skip a field, change the field name, or change the "Indexed" options.

Now with Access 2003, it won't let me leave the first field. I can click on the other fields, but the options are still stuck on the first field.

I believe this is exactly what people were describing in these posts from 2/23/04: "column headings when import from Excel" and 4/22/04: "Do Not Import (Skip) checkbox in Access 2003". Nobody ever really resolved their questions that I could see, so I'm asking it again. I'd really appreciate any help. My IT people at work can reproduce the problem, but don't know what the problem is.

Apparently there isn't a fix yet, at least according to Jeremy's post right
above yours.

Jeremy,

I am looking for the fix on the "skip field" file specification and have not
been successful? Can you help?
