Field Format

I have several queries for which I am trying to format the field to number
(specifically "Fixed). The underlying table fields are properly formatted
but when I try to format the query fields through field properties, the
format selection box in blank. I tried manually entering the word "Fixed"
but, of course, that did not help. The format issue is causing two problems:

1. My expression results are displaying infinate places to the right of the
decimal point.

2. When I try to run reports based on these queries, and sum the detail, I
get a data type mismatch. Also, I can not format the report results through
properties because the format selection is also blank there.

Please help.

Do I set this in the table, queries, and reports? I set the decimal in the
table but the query fields still have no format options in the pull down box.

Besides using "Fixed", you also need to specify the number of decimal
places. More than likely, yours is set to [Auto]

Setting it in the table should be sufficient.

I have everything formatted in the table. When I create an expression in
query, I loose the formatting and can't correct it because the format drop
down in field properties is empty. Is there a setting change I need to make
to get the format properties to appear?
