Femad.B Trojan/Virus - HELP!!!

D

Dimitri

Hi people

I have had this Femad-B trojan thing residing in my
computer. My AVG (Free edition) anti-virus recognises
it, but cannot heal or remove it. The location of the
infection is as follows:

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temporary
Internet Files\Content.IE5\SWJEWH5\updatehtm
[1].zip:\javautil.zip

I cannot locate this file to delete it by using windows
explorer or the windows 'search' tool. Any good advice
or any known means to remove the little bast**d?

Thanks!

The temporary Internet Files contain the cache for the files that are
accessed when you use the Internet Explorer browser.

Open Internet Explorer and select Tools/Internet Options/General tab. In the
TIF section, select the Delete Files Button. Also, select to delete all
offline files when you see that dialog box. This will effectively remove all
of the files in that folder.

2 ways to remove it.

Control Panel / Internet Options / General Tab
Delete Files button.

This will delete all of the files except the cookies in your 'Temporary
Internet Files' Folder.

or ..

On an explore window and navigate the menus to:

"Tools / Folder Options... | View."

and in the "Advanced Settings" box:
Check "Display the contents of system folders"
Click to place radio button on "Show hidden files and folders"
and Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)"

You should be able to find the file now.
