Feedback on program

A

Andy

I am running Win XP Pro Sp3.

I would be interested in any feedback from users of Malware Defender.

I am currently evaluating it.

Thanks.

It should also be noted that web site is an Enigma affiliate whose sole

pupose is for the infected reader to use Enigma's SpyHunter through them for

affiliate revenue. But Malware Defender, Strong Malware Defender and

variants are scareware Rogues and are not real anti malware utilities. Andy

needs to look at traditional anti malware software and learn the difference

so he doesn't fall for their malicious ploys.

What did you base this on ? "are scareware Rogues."

Malware Defender has alerted me to many programs attempting to call home.

As well as programs that try to get in the "Startup Line" without asking?

I don't like programs that "go into my fridge without asking".

360.cn is the webpage that the program has in the about box, but it isn't where I downloaded it from.

I hope you don't believe everything you read.
I am sure you do research.. ??

This program looks highly suspicious. There are many references on the
net about it being spyware. Its developers site is written only in
Chinese. The site is known to host spyware. There are no reviews of the
program anywhere.

Why would you bother with this when there are so many other reputable
products of this type?

Ah - I think I've pinned it down fairly indubitably: it's Andy whose
software (or posting host) is adding all the blank lines.

I'm with you there. I have something ancient called something like
"startup monitor" that asks me about things like that (pops up something
like "xxx has set the following to run at startup - do you want to allow
it?") - at least, I have it on my old '98SElite machine; I can't
remember if it works under XP, or if it does, whether I have installed
it. (I think not, probably to both.)

I don't get it, Andy.

Your the one that initiated this post asking for "Feedback on program" yet
you question the feedback your given.

Go ahead, use Malware Defender. We don't care. It's not on our computer.
Caveat
emptor!

I believe this is an unmoderated group.

And my discussion is relevant because I am using XP.

And ? That is wonderful that you feel this discussion is relevant because
you are using XP. You're my hero. It doesn't change the fact that you
question each and every negative comment about Malware Defender.

So far, you don't seem to liike any of the "feedback" you have received.
Would this suit you better?

Andy, it is a real jim-dandy program and I applaud your perspicacity in
finding it. I - and the rest of the world - anxiously await the conclusions
you draw after your evaluation. If those conclusions are positive, I am
sure the developers of the program are in for a monumental increase in
traffic to their website; I can only hope they have the foresight to prepare
for it.

Are you trying to get suckers to load this and destroy their computers? I've
been hit by a couple of these fake AV/spyware programs, and it's no fun fixing
your system after they get on it.
