Fed up with VBA...want to use the .NET framework

Hi
I'm working in an environment consisting of Windows2000 (SP4), Office 2000
(SP3), .NET Framework 1.1 and VS2003 (which I have as a developer) and there
will be no change until late 2007. I'm fed up with all our Excel applications
created with VBA! Some of the applications consist of 10000 rows of VBA code.
I can read about a lot of cool .NET & Office stuff at MSDN but they only
apply to Office2003, which I can not use. What about us using Office2000? I
want to convert some of the old Excel applications/templates but I don't want
to do it with "fresh" VBA, instead I want to use Excel2000 together with .NET
in one way or another...is this possible?

You can write COM add-ins in .net for Office 2000
Just use an extensibility >> shared add-in project
The 2003 professional limitation is only for VSTO.
cheers
