February 2004, Cumulative Patch

I received a Patch update from Microsoft this morning. It
is titled "February 2004, Cumulative Patch". It wants me
to download the attached patch titled 8755.exe. I do a
search in Microsofts files and it doesn't recognize it.
I know like everyone else before I open an attachment
expecially a .exe I am VERY paranoid. Is this a legit
patch from microsoft?

It's bogus, and almost definitely contains a virus.

Microsoft does not e-mail patches. They never have, and they never will. The
most they will ever do is send a bulletin, advising you to go to their site
and download the patch from there.

Also, Microsoft does not usually release security updates
until the second Tuesday of every month. Most of the time
anyway.
