Feature Request: "Total number of items" in Outlook Today

If the "Show total number of items" property is set, Outlook Today's messages
view should display the total number of items. "Outlook Today"'s messages
view should only display the number of unread items for a folder if the "Show
number of unread items" property is set for that folder. The blue vs. green
coloring used in the folder list should also be used in outlook today for
clarity.

I have certain folders that represent work items. If these folders are not
empty, I must work on them until the folders become empty. Therefore, in my
outlook today view, I'd like to see the total number of items in these
folders, not the unread item count. For other mail folders I would like to
see the unread item count.

In regards to your other postings; in the future you might start a posting
with "is it possible..." or "how do I..." instead of screaming "Feature
Request" straight away. Outlook is a grown up program and/but still improves
with each new version. As it holds many options not all might be known by
you or involves a different way of working. Also not all options are exposed
but only available through the e.g. registry. Since Outlook is highly
programmable as well you might find that an add-in has been developed for
your specific needs already.
