i have dell computer with windows xp. it does not
recognize hard drive any longer. i installed new hard
drive, but still give message "hard drive not found".
once I hit f1, then it starts to windows.

i want to fdesk my original hard drive, but windows xp
does not recognize hard drive. but if i hit f2, it
recognize the hard drive and size.

is there any way i can fdisk my original hard drive ?

I have said this before and I will say it again. If your pc stops
recognising your hard drive, it may not be the hard drive at fault. If you
have tried a second with no success, try replacing the internal battery. It
could be simply 'forgeting' the drive setting and pressing f2 maybe making
it reconfigure itself.

FDISK is obsolete, use Disk Management tool instead
(diskmgmt.msc)
