I created a bootup disk from Windows98, and used it to boot up a new
computer. When I do fdisk, it yields the error "incorrect DOS version." Any
ideas what's going on??

Please advice,
Thanks,

John

Hi, John.

FDISK from WinME probably won't run when you boot from Win98, and vice
versa.

What are you trying to do? To install WinXP, just boot from the CD-ROM and
let it do all the things that FDISK and Format.exe would do, if you could
run them. After you install WinXP, boot into WinXP and run Disk Management.
It will do all FDISK and Format.exe will do - and much more.
