fdisk command not recognized

trying to extend partition slave hardrive but fdisk command not recognized by dos (ie, start - run - command - fdisk - ???) - something simple i am not doing? thank you

if you have a Western Digital HD and you received an
installation disk with it, there should be a utility that
will partition and format your HD on that install disk.
The format happens a lot faster than with fdisk. The
utility will ask you how you want to partition the drive.

There is no FDISK in Windows XP. Go to Start Run, type
compmgmt.msc, select Disk Management and there you will
have the opportunity (if you know what you're doing) to
accomplish the task . . . Be careful and if you're not
sure, DO NOTHING and get some help. Things have
changed . . .

thank you - i am there now @ disk management - need to
find next step to allocate slave disk volume to master so
that computer has sufficient disk space to properly
operate

Disk Management will not allow to to "extend", "merge" or "span" a
partition. You will need to locate another utility to do that!
