Faxing long-distance

I can't seem to fax long-distance. I notice in the fax
console window the recipient fax number has 1 +1 ( )
number. Why are there two 1's ? Is this the problem?

Most likely.
Windows XP Fax service will not process dialing rules unless the phone
number to which you are sending the fax is in "international format."
Details on how to use international format to invoke dialing rules are

Did you perhaps enter a 1 in the place for "dial this to get an outside
line"?
