Fax shortcut

My PC is running XP Home SP2, DSL connection. I would like to configure
my computer so that I can right-click on a desktop photo or document and
automatically send it to the Fax program. Is that possible?

If you use ADSL, does your PC have available a Dial-Up modem with
a functioning "Connectoid" (Dial up setting). You cannot use Facsimile
type operations over Broadband.

Yeah, right click and choose Print. Then choose Fax from the drop down menu.

Alias

When I right-click on a image saved on my desktop, 'Print' is not
listed.

Have you got a printer configured? Have you configured your fax?
Remember, to fax something, DSL will not work. You will need a separate
phone line for that.

Like you Alias, I think the printer software has not be set up for the OP's
system. I do have one DSL line and use it for a regular phone, fax and
surfing. When faxing, I go to print and choose the printer fax function that
was set up with the HP software.

FAX = analog. DSL = digital. Never the twain shall meet.

Although there's some truth in what you say, it's *very* misleading.

First, just because someone has a DSL connection to the internet does not
mean that he does not also have a dial-up line and modem that would permit
faxing. For example, I have both here, and can FAX even though I use DSL for
my internet connection.

Second, even if he has only a DSL connection, and no dial-up connection,
there are several web-based FAX services he could use.

The OP does not state that he has an analog modem.

Although you are correct. It is not the answer to the question. It is however
a solution.

No, he didn't, and I didn't suggest otherwise. I said "does not mean that he
does not also have a dial-up line and modem." I didn't say he had one, I
said that it was *possible* that he had one. My point is that having a DSL
modem does not preclude the possibility of his also having a dialup modem.
For example, I have both here.

It may or may not be a solution for him. My only point here is that your
saying "FAX = analog. DSL = digital. Never the twain shall meet." may give
him the mistaken impression that if he has a DSL internet connection, he can
not also have a dialup modem and therefore can not fax. That isn't true, and
I wnted to point it out, lest he get a mistaken impression from your reply.
