Fax Service Manager

I use XP Home Edition.

I am having problems receiving faxes.

Is the Sp3 version supposed to have Fax Service Manager?

I don't have it.

Thanks.

Fax functionality was built into XP Pro (not XP Home.)

In the "Add or Remove" control panel, there is a separate
item for the installation of "Windows Components". That's one place
to check, to see if faxing is an option. I have WinXP Pro, and
there is a fax option there. I currently don't have that installed.
I also get an option to install IIS (some kind of web server),
and that isn't installed either.

component which was an installable option in the Windows XP
operating system."

The Fax Service Manager appears to be a part of WFS. Maybe you've
stumbled onto some documentation, which references one of the newer
OSes ?

Paul,

I believe the reference to the FSM was in some M.S. documention, but I
could be wrong or it was an
"uncaught errors".

I researched the error code for the receive fax event viewer and was
led to the FSM.
