Fax server information cannot be retrieved. The Fax wizard wil close
now.

This is the error message I get when attempting to send a fax. I just
installed a new PCI US Robotics modem and wanted to test it out. The
internal diagnostics pass and the card is installed properly.

Fax service is auto and started
RPC service is running
Telephony service is running

What else needs to be done?

Proper modem drivers for Windows XP SP2?

Defective modem? Just because it's new doesn't make it good!

Yes, proper modem drivers for WXP. They are Microsoft digitally signed
and came with the installation CD. I am on SP1 currently for personal
reasons.

The modem passed the "Query Modem" diagnostic from Device Manager
dialogue.

Try a test fax to someone you know. The problem is frequently at the other
end.

Richard, that is what I'm trying to do. I can't get the fax program
working on my own end at all. When going through the fax wizard I get
the error message. Thank you for your help.

I have since uninstalled Fax service and reinstalled it. That seems to
have corrected the problem.
