Fax doesn't make it past Sending

I'm using Outlook 2000, and the Symantec Fax Starter Edition that
comes with it.

I usually fax by printing to Symantec, from Quickbooks and Word
(mainly QB). Over the last month or two, though, none of the faxes are
going through. It dials, and the connection is picked up on the other
end, then the screen says "Sending" for about 5 seconds before
disappearing. After 3 tries, I get the familiar "fax failed" message.

Any thoughts?
