Fax Console Monitor not working

I have used Fax Console on this computer before without
any problems but now the monitor doesn't detect that
either a fax is being sent or the phone is ringing.
Therefore it I don't know what is happening and as a
consequence, I sent the same fax 3 time yesterday.

All the check boxes are ticked to allow the modem to send
& receive as well as to notify when sending or receiving
faxes.

Any ideas? I have tried re-installing Fax Console but to
no avail.
