Purchase a new computer ... how do I transfer the folders
from my favorites listing to the new machine. Thanks. I
guess I need to know where this file is stored and its
name and extension. Any help will be appreciated.

It depends on how you have your machine configured. That is, whether each
user has his/her own set of Favorites or if there is one universal set.
(I'm assuming that you are using a version of Microsoft XP, too.)

Check: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Favorites

or

Check: C:\Documents and Settings\User Namer\Favorites

You should fine them there

IE>file>import/export wizard, to floppy. Reverse to install.
