When I first turn on the computer, I find that I can hit
the start button, select favorites, then select the
desired web page and the connection to the Internet works
(I have broadband). After using the computer for a while,
however, I can no longer get the desired web page - the
pointer is visible, but the hourglass is not. If I go to
my home page via the taskbar or internet explorer icon on
the desktop and use the left panel favorites pane, all
seems to work well. I went to my broadband provider
(Comcast)and cleaned out the cookies and temp files at
their suggestion - it didn't work. I then went to Dell
tech support (my OEM)and with their help, I uninstalled
Windows XP Home edition, including IE 6, then re-
installed both - without touching the files. The re-
install works fine overall, but I still have the same
problem when I try to access favorites through the start
button. Can anyone help? Thank you. Joe Gagliano
