Favorites will only alphabetize

I have sorted my favorites alphabetically and then wanted to customize and
drag them about keeping my most often used links listed first. Now, after
having sorted alphabetically once - everytime I reboot the computer I loose
my customization that lists my most often used links first - it reverts to an
alpha sort. Please advise. How do I rid the automatic alpha sort???

Rename the ones you want at the top as 00,01,02 and so on.

They never used to do this until I did a right-click and sort. Isn't there
a setting that can be changed so that automatic sort is turned off?? Has a
setting in my registry been altered by this right-click and alpha sort. I
can rename them, thank you, but would like to return the behavior back to the
way it was??? Any ideas. In the mean time I will rename and thanks so much
for getting back to me.
