"Favorites" not in alphabetical order

Am using Windows XP (SP2). When I open Internet Explorer and click on
FAVORITES and add a new folder to FAVORITE, the added folder does not go into
its proper space in alphabetic order with the list of existing Favorites.

Instead it is listed on the end of the Favorite list, NOT in alphabetic order.

How do I get these newly added folders in alphabetic order. I have about 10
folders on the end of my list of alphabtetized folders that I would like to
get in proper order to make searching a bit easier.

Expand the Favorites menu, right click on any entry and select Sort by Name.

Open your favorites list from the top menu bar, not the favorites pane on
the left. Right click any entry and select sort by name.

Its by design so that you can see what has been recently added, as
previously posted right click the list and ' sort by name '

Keep in mind that "alphabetical" may not be the perfect solution for you.
You may want one or more of your favorites near the top of your list to keep
them handy. You can always drag an entry to a "better" place in your list.

open internet explorer, right click on one of the favourites(either a folder
or anaddress and move down to Sort by Name then left click on it.This puts
the favourites into alphabetical order.

You can also drag them where you want or use the organise favourites bit

I had the same problem. Sorting alphabetically with "order by name" affects
only the order favorites are shown when you just list them but not when you
want to add a new one.
If this happens, export your favorites to a bookmark.html file, then delete
all entries in the favorites folder in "Documents and settings" and reimport
the bookmarks into your now empty favorites list.
I did it by importing them first to another pc and then importing them from
there. Someone else proposed to restart the pc or login as another user.
You may have to try the best method, but eventually it should work.

Cut & Paste.
