I had logos for each of my favorite web sites and now they are gone, replaced
with the blue e. How do I get them back?

The "logos" are called 'favicons.' There is a utility, FavOrg, that will
make favicons stick, and will also find and install new favicons for
shortcuts that didn't already have them. I read in a forum that you should
disable the "check connections" function in WinXP SP2, but I can't confirm
that, as I don't use the utility myself.

Here is a link to it. Download and install at your own risk, of course.

I assume you mean icons. They are called favicons and are stored in
Temporary Internet Files. If TIF is cleared they will be gone. They will
also eventually expire out of TIF.

Get FavOrg:

or get AM-Deadkink

Dljac,

When you do see an icon (favicon) you like and want to keep, go to
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files,
locate & right-click the icon & Copy, make a personal Icon folder somewhere
convenient, right-click & paste into the new Icon folder. Now right-click
and rename the icon to something other than favicon. Now you can change the
blue-e icon to the saved icon permanently.
