Favorites Icons Disappear!

Why do the neat little icons for my "favorites keep
disappearing aftera couple of days. I thought it was
because of clearing temp files, but the last time they
disappeared, I had not done that.

Seems that to go to the trouble of designing the icons
and getting them to appear in my favorite menu, they
should at least stick around.

As you state, it is true that when you clear out your Temporary Internet
Files, you also lose the favicons which are the little icons that come with
web sites (other then the standard 'e'). If you want to keep them you will
need a third party program called FAVORG from PC Mag.

PC Mag now require that you pay a subcription to get utilities downloaded.
However, you can download it from this
site where it is free (I believe).

Hope this helps.

Unfortunately that program seems to pick up favicons only in the root
directory. For example it puts up the "Comcast" icon for some pages of
mine stored in my space on Comcast which have the location of their
favicons in the <head> section of the page.

Netscape handles those properly though...
