Favorites' Icon

Hi,

I have alot of bookmarks added to favorites, most of them
has their own icon. One day all of those icon will be
changed to the IE default icon, how can i maintain the
original site icon?

Why is it gone? Is it stored in the temp folder? After
adding all those sites with icons in my Favorites, where
are these icons stored?

What is Favicon.ico? Is there any DLL files that store all
these site default icons that i can backup?

There in the temp folder at
C:\Documents and Settings\John Doe\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
When this cache is emptied there gone.You need to create a permenent
folder elsewhere and place the icons you want there.Reassociate the
favorites icons to this folder and they will stay from that point on.
search your drive for : favicon[1].ic favicon[2].ic
and so on.Once they revert back to the default they are gone,you will
have to revisit the website and rebookmark to get them back.

Favicons are only temporary until cleared from your cache.
