Faulty mp3 player?

I have a Logix mp3 player, bought last summer, which I used as an emergency
flash drive when I was forced into a reformat of my hard drive.

I now need to retrieve files from that emergency backup, but everyway I turn
I have problems with the mp3 player.

1. Powering it on the LCD display shows I need to reformat the player and it
will not play.

2. Connecting the player and using windows explorer I can read the folder
content of the player, but cannot drag and drop, cut and paste or delete any
of the files or folders. Right clicking on the file or folder permits a
display of properties showing that the file exists.

3. Right clicking on the drive allows for a re-format, but windows explorer
hangs and doesn't complete the format.

Is this a situation I can resolve or do I throw the mp3 player away and
start again?

Well - I would go to the manufacturer of the MP3 player before jumping to
conclusions. Could be just a matter of using their software.
