Hi

If any one could help a real non-techie with this one it would be most appreciated!

Lately when starting from hibernation the computer up we're getting a fault message saying either 'BIOS Checksum Bad' or that we need to reset the time and date.

Only way seems to chose F1 and 'peripherals' since the USB's for some reason are disabled.

Please, won't understand anything but really simply put answers. Sorry... Would really appreciate it though!

It's very likely your motherboard BIOS backup battery has failed.

This battery keeps all BIOS settings including time and date.

You need to replace the battery which very commonly is a round cell about 20mm in diameter and kept in place with a sprung clip.
