p4p800-vm BAD BIOS CHECKSUM

T

Tina

I have seen this posted and tried everything but to no avail. So
here's my problem.

After 3 days of working a brand new computer on reboot says Bad bios
checksum insert disk, it searches for cdrom and floppy. I have given
it the bios and it says it flashed it and to power off then on for the
system to reset. When I do this it goes right back to Bad bios
checksum.

ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED>

It this is abrand new motherboard, get it replaced. Should this be too
time-consuming or difficult, then replace the CMOS battery. If the error
message re-appears, then consider the motherboard bad.

Just try to use EZ-Flash with the accompanied CD in the cd-drive, to let
the board reflash BIOS, to see if you can fix it.

Of course you can choose to download some older version of BIOS to flash
with EZ-Flash -- because EZ-Flash is somewhat safer to use than the Afudos.

If you cannot fix it, perhaps replace it.

Tina, I have never seen such a thing like bad BIOS checksum! I have
seen may times a bad CMOS checksum message, this is normal after
flashing! Is this what you see? So please follow the instructions in
the manual. After flashing, reboot, do go imediately into bios and
load SETUP DEFAULTS, save, reboot and the message should be gone.
After that you can customize your bios settings
