Fatal System Error

At a loss here. Have tried everything but a true restore
of the hard disk drive.
Windows XP system was loaded with virus'. Was able to
clean them all (lucky me). But later while rebooting the
sytem gets to the login section (never the prompt) and
does a Fatal System Error 0X00000080 (0X00000000,
0X00000000) System will now shutdown.

And it just stops. Any ideas from anyone? I will not even
let me do a recovery.

thanks that worked. Was able to reinstall over the XP
install and repaired that problem.
