Fatal error and shutdown

I am having trouble with repeated fatal error(s) which leads very briefly to
and error message on a blue screen and then proceeds to an automatic
shutdown. Is there a way to stop the automatic shutdown so that I can read
the error on the page in hopes of finding out where the problem lies? Also,
perhaps someone may have an idea as to what is the problem. I have Cubase
SE, Itunes (for the Ipod) and a freeware MP3 conversion program that are all
involved in this. To the best of my recollection, it has only happened once
with Cubase, but seems to happen quite frequenly when using Either Itunes of
the other program. I can reduce the chances of a shutdown by working with
between 2 and 4 songs at a time. Selecting any more than that will almost
invariably cause a fatal error and shutdown. Any ideas are appreciated.

Hello Nathan

Goto Start>Control Panel>System.

Click the Advanced tab.

Click the Settings button under Startup and Recovery.

Remove the tick from the box next to Automatically Restart under System
Failure.

Click OK.

The next time you have a serious system failure rather than reboot, your PC
should present you with a blue screen of death[!] with an error message.

That works if the machine is rebooting on failure. From what the OP
said, I thought the machine is actually shutting down and turning off.
That makes it sound like a hardware issue to me.

True, Let's see what the response is and maybe we can both help.
