I want to be able to make certain folders accessable (they
are now read only). I found this article from Microsoft
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;308418
but it only works in NTFS drives (mine is a FAT32). Is
there a way of changing a folder permanently in FAT32?
Every time I change it by right clicking it, it instantly
converts back. Thanks

FAT 32 fundamentally does not have security for access to files, and a
read only on a folder has no meaning - you can always access the
contents. XP makes use of he read only attribute for a folder for other
purposes. You can 'change' it, so the change can be propagated to the
files inside, but the attribute of the folder itself will revert to the
use XP makes.
