FAT32 and NTFS

I've just installed two new hard drives and was only given the option to
make them NTFS. My two existing hard drives are both FAT32. Is this OK?

Cheers.

It's fine if you want an ntfs file system. Ntfs is, of
course, more secure than fat32 but you can't use a
windows 98 or Me startup disk to access the dos prompt
like you could with fat and fat32 file systems. Ntfs does
not recognise dos. You have been only offered ntfs
because of the size of your hard drives. If you are more
comfortable with fat32 the try partitioning your hard
drives to create a smaller file area. Fat32 can be used
on drives/partitions up to 32GB. So, if you want fat32
restrict your partition size to below 32GB

Hope this helps

Err.........thanks John. I just wanted to know if it is OK to have the two
file systems on my PC. I'm happy to leave it as it is as long as it's not
going to cause me any problems down the line. Also, one of my FAT32 drives
has a 120GB partition on it.

Cheers.
