Hi folks.

I have a copy of Windows XP Home. Two partitions, both about 8GB, both
FAT32. (???) Anyway, if I convert the system partition to NTFS, what will
the permission settings be? Will they be open enough to allow Windows to
continue to function correctly? I bet they won't match what they would be
for an install that was NTFS from the start...

Thanks.

You are probably too pessimistic. Search help on your computer for
"fat32 to ntfs" and read all about it.

Odd that u had FAT. Reason?
I have DOS recovery apps that cant handle NTFS. U?
'IF IT Works, Dont fix it'
Gotta be some small probability of error in conversion
too. Flop a bit in OS files & u can be SOL.

Any advice given is my attempt to show appreciation for all
the excellent help I've received here but I'm no MVP so it
may only apply NUGS. Personal attacks, nitpicking & criticism
of anything but content will NOT be responded to. Those
posters should spend their time taking the test @
