Any ideas on how to accelerate my 2min. win xp pro boot-up time ? I've tried
uninstalling unnecessary software, defragment, virus check, hard disk
clean-up. I know a hardware upgrade could help, but is there a software
solution?

Thanks

You didn't say what CPU you are using, or the amount of RAM you have. For
lower speeds and/or minimal RAM, 2 minutes is not bad.

I sorta have the same problem. I have an older dell with
450mhz cpu, 512mb of sd133 ram (probibly running at
100mhz though cause of this Mobo). Sometimes, but not
everytime, it takes me a LONG time to load winxp... but
sometimes it loads in a few seconds. I thought winxp
boasted faster bootup and loading, and faster shutdowns
as well?
