Fast user switching under XP

S

Selch Christian

I have under windows XP professional 3 user accounts installed. Fast user
switching is therefore a nice and useful feature.

Fast user account switching was working several weeks. Now the system
requests on start up an empty password and creats in the next steps several
error messages. Error messages also, when shuting down or attempting to log
off. Wellcome screen is not shown anymore.

Switching off "fast user switching" creates a normal system behaviour on
logon, logoff and shut down, without error messages, but without the
feature.

Going back to an earlier system restore point doesn't fix the problem. Also
to start up in diagnostic mode switching off system.ini, win.ini, services
and startup doesn't help.

Anything I can do in the registry or do I have to reinstall some system dlls
(If yes, which ones).

Thanks in advance to everyone who might have an usefull hint.

Regards - Christian

What is the error message? Anything to do with Gina.dll? In the meantime,
see if this helps:

Go to Start/Run and type in: services.msc
Scroll down to Terminal Services and make sure it is Started.
