Fast User Switching Problem

Help. I have fast user switching enabled on my xp pro machine (all latest
patches) - however when i return to machine after screensave time out period
I am presented with xp sign-on dialogue and *not* the welcome screen as I
expect with fast user switching. When i reboot the machine I get the welcome
screen (with my account and guest account listed) as expected. (Off line
files are not enabled in keeping with fast user switching requirements). any
ideas what's going on?

Some stored settings for FUS may be corrupt. Turn off
Fast User Switching and Welcome Screen from the User
Accounts control panel, reboot, then turn the options back
on.
