If I have a retail copy of Vista Business and use the online upgrade to go to
Ultimate can I still take advantage of the $49 family pact upgrades?

For the Family discount you enter the pk for the Ultimate version, so I
think that should work.

If you purchased an Ultimate upgrade edition product key you should be able
to use it to purchase the family pack product keys for Vista Home Premium.

Colin, I don't think so.

The first question in the qualifying questionnaire is "Have you purchased a
retail boxed product of Windows Vista Ultimate Edition for a PC in your
home?" I suspect that if the answer is no, then you won't qualify.

Once you have your key for Ultimate, go to the Family Pack site and
type it in and see if it lets you proceed.

If not, then no you can't. If it does, then yes you can :)
