False generated addware malware.

Good Afternooni wonder if you can help me.I have on my TaskbarA flashing
question mark and a Triangle,they keep poping up saying i am infected with
goodness knows what ,if true i dont thnk the Computer would work.They appear
to be from a company in the Phillipines called SPYLOCK.COM.I also appear to
have a new Toolbar,this is i,m sure malware,but i cannot get rid of them i
have tried Add/Remove ,Task Bar Manger to no avail.I have my usual anti
spyware etc,Avg Anti Virus which did detect Three new Viruses Yesterday,one a
trojen Horse,I run a scan simply because these adds appeared.Hoping you can
help.

You still have malware on board:

If you haven't upaded your AV-ware in the last day or so, do so, and scan
again. 3 Viruses is a terrible record and indicates that you likely have a
LOT MORE issues still on the computer.

Download, update and run at least the following:
Adaware from lavasoft.com
spybot Search & Destroy from spybot.com
Windows Defender from Microsoft
and any others you might know are good. AVOID anything from suspicious
sources.

No single spyware tool catches everything; it seems to always take at least
two, sometimes three, to catch everything and occasinally even that fails.

Uninstall any 3rd party toolbars while you do the above scans. It's also
best to do the scans from Safe Mode, especially in your situation.

Once you're cleaned up, then get a good firewall such as ZoneAlarm.com's
freebie. It works well and is reliable. It takes a day or two of
"training" but if you answer the access requests right, it'll protect you
going forward.

It's also possible that, since you had three viruses and a trojan, plus
whatever might be leftover of them, that your system has been compromised
beyond repair and a reinstall might be in order. Keep an eye out for
"funnies" that seem to happen and seem to be increasing over time, so you
can decide to reinstall before you crash.
