False Folder Expansion (+) in Windows Explorer

I moved about 50 files from a folder to a subfolder.
Then I moved about 50 more and a plus sign appeared even
though no folder was moved into it. (Not even a hidden
system folder - I set them to be visible.) The plus goes
away with reload or overlaying and returning from another
window. Trivial but odd.

I've experienced the same thing several times, but have yet to come up with
or see an explanation. As it has been harmless, I've just ignored it.
