False error messages

HI,
I have had a running problem with 'Spy Falcon' spyware. After three
laborious attempts I think I have finally removed it. It seemd to leave
hidden files which regenerated the threat at next boot up.

I have several error messages. The first is a message that says the system
has had a problem with MS Outlook / Word / PowerPoint and needs to close. It
askes if I want to send an error report to Microsoft. These messages occur
regardless of whether I have been using these programmes. I suspect that
this message is part of the Spyware problem and may trigger problems if it is
executed.

The second message is the 'Windows Installer' window folowed by a message
saying that Norton does not support the repair feature and that I should
remove and reinstal the (Norton) software. I've done this but the error
messgae persisitts.

Any suggestions? Are these real or bogus messages?

Thanks

Thanks,

I had not come across that forum before. Some fo the forums I did check out
seemed to have been infiltrated by bogus help messages which offered Spy
Falcon and other nasties as a solution to the problems they themselves were
causing.

There is a confidence issue there as I was not sure who to trust.
